File host list
Criteria for the file hosts:
- One must be able to consistently download from the file host directly on Tor with the "Safest" setting.
- One must be able to upload to the host either directly on Tor, Tor with JavaScript enabled, through a proxy or with a script.
- File host must have reasonable download and upload speeds. At minimum 50 KB/s
- File host must be reasonably reliable and online at least 1/3 of the time.
This is a file host list that was initially stored as a calc table, later moved to Kitty & Mimmy's Playground, and now hosted here. The file host list is sorted from largest file size limit at the top, to the smallest at the bottom.
Note that some file hosts require JavaScript for uploading, which you can enable at your own risk if you're using Tails, Whonix or a similar anonymous environment. If you're not using such an operating system, you should not enable JavaScript on any site because it might compromise your anonymity.
For those who cannot enable JavaScript, an alternative upload method should be used if there is one available for the host in question. If there is no working alternative method, pick another host.
